About This Saree — Katan Silk with Kadwa Weave & Meena Jaal Pattern
This Hot Pink saree is part of Panaya's Katan Silk Collection. Katan silk is the most prized variety of Banarasi weaving — made from tightly twisted pure mulberry silk threads that give a crisp, structured drape with a natural golden sheen.
Kadwa weave is one of the oldest and most authentic Banarasi weaving techniques. In Kadwa, each motif is individually woven into the fabric — thread by thread — without any floating threads on the reverse side. This produces an exceptionally clean finish on both sides of the saree, making Kadwa sarees highly coveted for their craftsmanship and durability. Meena Jaal is one of the most opulent and intricate patterns in Banarasi heritage. "Jaal" means net or lattice — the entire body of the saree is covered in a continuous interlocking floral or geometric network, filled with Meena enamel-like coloured silk highlights. The result is an all-over jewel-encrusted look of extraordinary richness. On a Hot Pink Katan base, the Meena Jaal pattern blazes with colour and grandeur — making this saree a true bridal and festive masterpiece.
