About This Saree
This is a Lime Green Katan Silk Banarasi Saree (SKU 4088) with a Jaal pattern woven using the Kadwa technique. It is handwoven in Varanasi by skilled weavers who have been practising this craft for generations.
Katan Silk is a tightly twisted, pure mulberry silk. It gives the saree a firm body, a clean drape, and a natural sheen. It is one of the finest silks used in Banarasi weaving.
Jaal is one of the most celebrated patterns in Banarasi weaving. It is a continuous all-over lattice or net-like design that covers the entire body of the saree — intricate interlocking motifs woven seamlessly from end to end without a break. On a vibrant Lime Green base, the Jaal pattern creates a breathtaking interplay of texture and colour, with gold threads illuminating every intersection of the lattice. The Kadwa weave ensures each motif of the Jaal is woven individually and cleanly — no floating threads on the reverse, sharp definition on every detail, and remarkable durability that lasts decades.
