About This Saree
This is a Magenta Katan Silk Banarasi Saree (SKU 4439) with a Boota pattern woven using the Kadwa technique. It is handwoven in Varanasi by skilled weavers who have been practising this craft for generations.
Katan Silk is a tightly twisted, pure mulberry silk. It gives the saree a firm body, a clean drape, and a natural sheen. It is one of the finest silks used in Banarasi weaving.
Boota is one of the most enduring and beloved motif traditions in Banarasi heritage weaving. Individual floral or foliate figures — inspired by the mango bud, lotus bloom, or flowering plant — are placed across the body of the saree as standalone bootas, each woven with painstaking precision. Their petals, stems, and contours are rendered in fine gold or zari threads, giving each motif a rich, three-dimensional presence. On a blazing Magenta base — a colour that burns with festive intensity and refuses to be ignored — the gold Boota motifs rise with exceptional clarity and drama. There is a particular alchemy between Magenta and gold that is unlike any other pairing in the Banarasi palette; the warmth of the zari does not soften the Magenta but rather amplifies it, creating a surface that is simultaneously fierce and refined. Each Boota stands as its own small masterpiece, and together they compose a saree of remarkable presence. The Kadwa weave ensures every boota is individually cut and woven — no loose threads on the reverse, sharply defined edges, and a durability that lasts decades.

Magenta Katan Silk Saree — Kadwa Boota — Panaya Heritage
SKU 4439 is part of Panaya's Katan Silk Banarasi Saree collection. This Magenta saree features the prestigious Kadwa weaving technique with a Boota pattern — individual floral and foliate motifs scattered across the saree body, each woven in fine gold or zari threads against the vivid, saturated Magenta base.
Magenta occupies a singular place in Indian festive dressing — bolder than pink, warmer than red, and far rarer than either. It carries an energy that is at once celebratory and sophisticated, making it a natural choice for those who want their saree to be remembered. The Boota pattern, with its individual gold motifs rising against this intense ground, adds a layer of craftsmanship and heritage that only Banarasi handloom can deliver. An outstanding choice for weddings, sangeet ceremonies, engagements, and festive occasions where presence and personality matter equally.
Every Katan Silk saree from Panaya is handwoven in Varanasi by master weavers carrying generations of craft knowledge. All sarees carry the GI (Geographical Indication) tag and the Silk Mark certification issued by the Government of India.
