About This Saree

This is a Magenta Katan Silk Banarasi Saree (SKU 9016) with a Booti pattern woven using the prestigious Kadwa technique. It is handwoven in Varanasi by skilled heritage weavers who have been practising this intricate craft for generations.

Katan Silk is a tightly twisted, pure mulberry silk yarn. It gives the saree a firm body, a clean, structured drape, and a natural, royal sheen. It stands as one of the finest and most resilient silks used in traditional Banarasi weaving.

Booti is one of the most cherished motif traditions in Banarasi heritage weaving. Small, individual motifs—flowers, buds, leaves, or geometric forms—are scattered across the body of the saree in a graceful, rhythmic arrangement, each woven with extraordinary precision in fine gold or silver zari threads. On a rich Magenta base—vibrant, regal, and full of life—the zari Booti pattern resonates with striking brilliance and grandeur. Magenta has long been one of the most celebratory and high-energy colours in Indian textile tradition, and on a Katan Silk ground, it takes on a depth and luminosity that is entirely its own. The Kadwa weave ensures every single booti is cleanly cut and individually woven—resulting in no loose threads on the reverse, exceptionally sharp edges, and a finish that endures for decades.

Magenta Katan Silk Saree — Rombus boota

SKU 9016 is a proud addition to Panaya's Katan Silk Banarasi Saree collection. This exquisite Magenta saree features the prestigious Kadwa weaving technique with a classic Booti pattern—small, individual motifs scattered across the saree body, each woven in fine zari threads against the lush, deep Magenta base.

Magenta is one of the most captivating and beloved colours in Indian festive dressing. It carries the boldness of modern celebration with the deep roots of royal tradition. Against this striking base, the zari Booti motifs take on a luminous quality—graceful, celebratory, and timelessly elegant. The Booti pattern draws from centuries of Banarasi motif heritage, each figure a testament to the weaver's unparalleled skill. It is an ideal choice for weddings, grand receptions, festive celebrations, and special family milestones.
