About This Saree
This is an Off White Katan Silk Banarasi Saree (SKU 4622) with a Boota pattern woven using the Kadwa technique. It is handwoven in Varanasi by skilled weavers who have been practising this craft for generations.
Katan Silk is a tightly twisted, pure mulberry silk. It gives the saree a firm body, a clean drape, and a natural sheen. It is one of the finest silks used in Banarasi weaving.
Boota is one of the most enduring and beloved motif traditions in Banarasi heritage weaving. Individual floral or foliate figures — inspired by the mango bud, lotus bloom, or flowering plant — are placed across the body of the saree as standalone bootas, each woven with painstaking precision. Their petals, stems, and contours are rendered in fine gold or zari threads, giving each motif a rich, three-dimensional presence. On an Off White base — the colour of natural silk in its most unassuming and elemental form, warm without being yellow, clean without being stark — the gold Boota motifs achieve something that no other ground colour can replicate. There is no competition between base and motif here, only conversation. The warmth of the Off White draws out the warmth of the gold, and together they create a surface of extraordinary gentleness and refinement. Off White is the colour of heirloom, of things passed down and cherished — and on Katan Silk, with its natural luminosity, it takes on a creaminess and depth that is simply irreplaceable. The Kadwa weave ensures every boota is individually cut and woven — no loose threads on the reverse, sharply defined edges, and a durability that endures for decades.

Off White Katan Silk Saree — Kadwa Boota — Panaya Heritage
SKU 4622 is part of Panaya's Katan Silk Banarasi Saree collection. This Off White saree features the prestigious Kadwa weaving technique with a Boota pattern — individual floral and foliate motifs scattered across the saree body, each woven in fine gold or zari threads against a warm, luminous Off White silk ground.
Off White is perhaps the most quietly powerful colour in the entire Banarasi palette. It asks for nothing and gives everything — a ground so natural and so complete that whatever is woven upon it is immediately elevated. The Boota pattern on Off White is a combination that has been worn by generations of Indian women at their most important moments — weddings, pujas, ceremonies, and celebrations where purity and grace matter above all else. This is not a saree that announces itself loudly; it is one that is remembered long after the occasion has passed. An ideal choice for brides, for mothers of the bride, for festive mornings, and for any woman who values the enduring over the fashionable.
Every Katan Silk saree from Panaya is handwoven in Varanasi by master weavers carrying generations of craft knowledge. All sarees carry the GI (Geographical Indication) tag and the Silk Mark certification issued by the Government of India.
