About This Saree — Katan Silk with Kadwa Weave & Booti Pattern
This Peacock Blue saree is part of Panaya's Katan Silk Collection. Katan silk is the most prized variety of Banarasi weaving — made from tightly twisted pure mulberry silk threads that give a crisp, structured drape with a natural golden sheen.
Kadwa weave is one of the oldest and most authentic Banarasi weaving techniques. In Kadwa, each motif is individually woven into the fabric — thread by thread — without any floating threads on the reverse side. This produces an exceptionally clean finish on both sides of the saree, making Kadwa sarees highly coveted for their craftsmanship and durability. Booti pattern is one of the most beloved and classical motifs in Banarasi heritage. "Booti" refers to small, delicate individual motifs — flowers, leaves, or geometric forms — scattered across the body of the saree in a graceful, evenly spaced arrangement. On a rich Peacock Blue Katan base, the Kadwa Booti motifs catch the light beautifully, creating a saree that is both elegant and regal — perfect for weddings, festive celebrations, and formal occasions.
